History of Reserve Lumber Company

Reserve Lumber Company was started in 1912 as a collective and innovative effort by a group of lumber dealers located in the Greater Cleveland area. This was one of the first cooperatives enabling lumber yards to combine purchasing in order to obtain material at a lower cost and, more importantly, in a timely manner. The name was easy to choose and implied a purpose to provide a "reserve" of material upon which to draw.

Through the years changes were made to adapt to the needs of the marketplace. In the early forties Reserve became a private corporation and began expanding its product lines. A second warehouse was started as Reserve entered the sixties.

The late sixties and early seventies brought rapid change as Reserve discontinued its warehouse operations and concentrated on direct shipments.

Reserve has made a commitment to warehousing material once more in order to better meet the needs of its customers. Our facility is located in Lordstown, Ohio and are able to provide prompt service and competitive prices.
